[tpop3d-discuss]Problems with mysql_init

OK,
Well in an attempt to make this work, I symlinked the libmysqlclient.so
to libmysqlclient.a.
I have removed that link and this is what I get now in the config.log;

/usr/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.a(my_compress.o)(.text+0xbc): In function `my_compress_alloc': :
undefined reference to `compress'
/usr/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.a(my_compress.o)(.text+0x13a): In function `my_uncompress': :
undefined reference to `uncompress'

I tried what the first post suggested and that did not help at all and I
do have zlib installed.

Any other suggestions? What is causing this? Do I need to use an older
version of MySQL?
