My syslogd.conf is curently set to only log info level. According to the 
syslogd man page, 'warn' should not be used. The next level down from 
'info' is 'notice'. I just tried this, and now I just see one line:

May 10 10:58:47 devious tpop3d[4173]: ioabs_tls_shutdown: client 
[5]dean(203.45.88.46): underlying connection closed by peer during shutdown

Which is better, I guess :)
