See section 6 (The UPDATE State) of RFC 1939.  The server will remove messa=
ges=20
marked as deleted _after_ it receives the QUIT command.  If the server=20
receives the QUIT command, and the connection is closed before the client=20
receives the response, the messages should still be removed.

=2D From previous emails, it looked like the QUIT command was sent by Looko=
ut=20
2002, but never reached the pop3 server.  Only commands that actually make =
it=20
to the pop server should be acted on, IMO.
