-- we have Spam Assassin and various other anti-spam
measures, but some spam probably leaks through. (I don't
see any of it -- most of it gets caught by my filters....)
However, it's clear that some of the spam is collateral;
it consists of bounce messages which have been sent by
mail servers when spammers have used the list address as
the return-path in spam they have sent. Sadly there is
very little that can be done about this.

One possibility would be to make the list moderated.
However, I don't really have the time or inclination to
act as a human anti-spam filter. If someone else does,
please get in touch. (Note that if your complaint is that
you don't want to see any spam, you don't want this job.)



As an aside, if you haven't tried `Bayesian' (not, in
fact, really Bayesian) spam filtering, do give it a go. It
appears to be very effective. Spam Assassin now has a
Bayesian mode, or you can try my code:
