Sorry for late reply but for the query to work with tpop3d as the pop3
server, it looks like the CONCATs are inevitable.

Thank you so much for all the help. You did give me the kickstart to
get the queries working. Rossz's suggestion helped in the perfection
and Chris Lightfoot (developer for tpop3d) gave the bit that made the
whole query consistent with tpop3d expectation. Thank you all.

So the final query I came up with is below:

auth-mysql-pass-query: SELECT CONCAT(pop,'/Maildir'),CONCAT('{crypt}', users.crypt),\
                       users.uid,'maildir' FROM users WHERE username='$(local_part)@$(domain)'


PS: This mail has been cross posted to tpop3d-users for the benefit of
    vmail-sql users who (I'm sure) will find migration to vexim2 quite
    a major feat.

Hey, am I in any way trying to kill another project here? I hope not, but
maybe vmail-sql can form a merger with vexim?? Coincidentall, vmail-sql has
some very good CLI to their db. Some CLI suggestions by Avleen can be
borrowed from vmail-sql.
