[tpop3d-discuss] Tpop 1.4.2 memory leak?: fork_child: fork: Not enough space

Dear List,

We're now running 4 Sun servers with Tpop 1.4.2 using auth-passwd
authentication. Hopefully pam was the issue. I'll monitor them to see if
they're stable.

On a different topic, one machine had a syslog of 80mb for only 15 hours
worth of POP3 sessions. That's even after we modified Tpop to only log 3
things for each session. We've now re-modified Tpop, so it now only logs
errors, such as internal problems or authentication and connection
failures.

A very welcome feature would be a compile or config option to
"log-only-errors" for large sites. :) It'd also be nice if tpop3d didn't
log errors to console when it's running as a daemon (with no debug or
vebose) but that's not a big issue.

We're still confident Tpop3d will be the best solution for us and it's
great to see such active development on it.

Thankfully,

One thing to note -- I had misremembered that the patch
didn't go to the list -- a user pointed out that since I rewrote the IO
stuff, timeout handling was fubar'd. The current CVS version
incorporates that patch. This may help you.
