Errm. Are you sure that this is an error? This could just
mean that someone else is using the file. For instance,
your MTA might be delivering a message to the spool at the
point where tpop3d tres to lock it.

If they are definitely stale, that shouldn't happen. Is
tpop3d exiting uncleanly? It should clean up its locks
under any circumstances....
