I was wondering if there is a way to output the average rates that iftop displays to a text file? I would like to graph the data.

You might want some sort of billing/monitoring system instead -- not sure which one but I'd suggest having a look at collectd and ipac-ng probably...

Thanks for the response. I have mrtg graphs for my network interfaces but they only probe every minute. For this particular study I was interested what was happening about every .5 seconds. This utility will output to csv which is what I am looking for.
